How philanthropy will play a growing role in African HE

29 June 2019 —- In an article on investment in higher education in Africa, The Cape Partnership’s Andrew Wigley makes the case that philanthropy will play a growing role in bridging funding shortfalls.

Writing for the University World News website, Andrew Wigley explains that the world is witnessing a boom in global philanthropy and its role in education is likely to increase. The article comes on the back of news that Oxford University is to receive a £150m donation from the financier Stephen Schwarzman which, Andrew Wigley describes, is the just the tip of a philanthropic iceberg.  The Cape Partnership has worked with a number of universities including the University of the Western Cape and Stellenbosch University.
